Rachel Dratch of 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live fame (remember Debbie Downer, the lovable sad sack whose depressing statements were punctuated by the wah wahhh of a trumpet?) is set to star in George Street Playhouse’s upcoming production of A. R. Gurney’s Sylvia! Check out this great article on her from Playbill.com:

This is the last weekend to catch the world premiere of Tony Award-winner Arthur Laurents’ new drama Come Back, Come Back, Wherever You Are at George Street Playhouse, and after reading Charles Paolino’s rave review in the Home News Tribune and Asbury Park Press I promise you won’t want to miss it!
As a lover of theater and someone that fancies herself a bit of a history buff, I have been very excited about Crossroads Theatre Company’s Fly—a play that tells the story of the African-American Army Air Corp fighters known as the Tuskegee Airmen who flew during World War II—and after this Sunday’s New York Times, I can see I’m not the only one! Here are the first few lines of one of the best Times reviews of a show I’ve read in a long time:
“Let’s get right to the point. ‘Fly’ blew me away.
The history of the Tuskegee Airmen is inspiring enough on its own. But Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan’s retelling of their story, as produced by the Crossroads Theater Company in New Brunswick, is a superior piece of theatrical synergy.”
